Congratulations! You have earned your San Francisco Green Business recognition, so now you can display the seal and logo for customers and the public to see. The logo signifies your commitment to a healthy environment and community. These guidelines provide direction on how to use the San Francisco Green Business logo.
Authorized Use: SF Environment retains exclusive rights to license the use of the San Francisco Green Business logo. Use of the logo is subject to the requirements in this document. Use of the logo in violation of these requirements constitutes unauthorized use.
Prohibited Use:
- The logo can only be used by San Francisco businesses that have a valid recognition certificate from the City and County of San Francisco's Green Business Program.
- Do not make alterations to the logo. Never change the colors or alter the typeface or text. Never stretch the logo or change the proportions. Never crop the logo (always keep the text and the leaf symbol together.) Never change the arrangement of the logo elements. Never place on top of a busy or dark colored background.
- Organizations with multiple locations may not use the logo unless each individual location is recognized or the location to which the recognition applies is clearly stated. Confusing or misleading use is prohibited.
- If a business moves, closes, is sold, no longer meets program standards, or has passed the three year recognition period, it may not display the logo. If your status changes, please notify us as soon as possible and remove the logo from your premises and materials as soon as possible.
- The logo may not be printed on product packaging. Green Business recognition does not apply to products produced or sold.
Colors: The logo colors are as follows: Green C:92, M: 5, Y: 96, K: 1 and Blue: C: 66, M: 0, Y: 1, K: 0. The black and white version is for one-color uses. When reproduced in a very small size, please use the all green text version so the words are legible.
Typeface: The logo typeface is Trade Gothic Bold.
Background: Try not to place the logo over a background other than white or beige. If absolutely necessary, make sure the background is very light, since the green and blue will not read well against dark colors.
Proportion: The logo shall be reproduced in the same proportions as the original. There are two versions of the logo; horizontal and vertical. Please feel free to use whichever version works best for your planned use.
