Founded in San Francisco in 1985, our purpose is to create architectural and interior design based on integrity, intellect and innovation for commercial, mixed-use, civic and institutional projects.
We have developed a Long Range Sustainability Plan, which outlines our approach to incorporating sustainability into our design process through active and passive design strategies - from building orientation and natural day lighting to innovative new building materials and mechanical systems. In addition, the Plan outlines the role of sustainability within our business operations and our engagement within the community.
We support continuing education and LEED accreditation for our staff by providing ongoing lectures and events. We also organize exam preparation groups for our employees, consultants and clients.
We are committed to integrating smart business practices into our daily operations. We support our local business by purchasing locally. We support public transportation and cycling to work in lieu of driving by offering commuter checks and providing secure bicycle parking and showers. We traded in our company car for a membership with a car sharing service.
STUDIOS has committed to the AIA 2030 Challenge, in which the global architecture and construction community targets a graduated reduction in greenhouse gases through innovative design strategies, and the application of renewable technologies; the ultimate goal is to achieve 100% carbon-neutral structures by the year 2030.
