Description
Huntsman is an award-winning architecture and interior design firm whose mission is to provide innovative architectural and interior design services to meet our clients' business, organizational, and real estate needs.  Sustainable practices and environmental stewardship are an integral part of our work.  With every project, we apply sustainable strategies and principles that balance client needs, site-specific considerations, technology, and budget requirements.

  • During the 1990's, Huntsman was an early adopter of green design through assisting the Presidio Trust in developing its sustainable design standards for interiors as well as in implementing several innovative technologies on the campus. Huntsman has assisted the Presidio Trust in bringing new life to a number of surplus historic buildings within the National Park setting.

  • Huntsman was one of the first architecture firms in the country to be part of the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED® Commercial Interiors Pilot Program in 2003.  Additionally, we were the only firm with three projects accepted into the program that helped establish the sustainable design criteria which serve as the basis for LEED®-CI projects. Since the USGBC Pilot Program, Huntsman has designed numerous LEED® projects that have incorporated sustainable design measures, often within limited budgets and schedules.

  • Since 2004, more than 60% of our staff has become LEED® Accredited Professionals.

  • Now, we have been involved in other green building standards than go beyond LEED criteria.  Recently, we have been supporting clients committed to the Living Building Challenge with the Materials Red List to identify and eliminate the worst in class chemicals and materials from the built environment that impact human and ecological health.
